Environmental Sustainability
While UPS has long been considered a pioneer in developing ways of reducing our environmental impact, protecting and conserving the natural world is a new area of focus for The UPS Foundation. Operating on a global scale, the foundation will pursue opportunities that help build understanding about the challenges confronting the environment, support programming that helps conserve nature and its bounty, and strengthen the ability of people to enjoy the bounty of our planet.
Over the years, The UPS Foundation has periodically supported environmental programming. From clean water initiatives in Africa to support for enhancing Keep America Beautiful’s volunteer capacity, foundation grants have been effective in this focus area.
The UPS Foundation launched its philanthropic focus on environmental sustainability in 2008 with more than $1.7 million in grants to support a variety of environmental programs and organizations worldwide. These grants supported tree planting, conservation efforts, youth education and volunteerism. Learn more.
